The uprising of things — every thing has a sound

Workshop and exhi­bi­tion on the theme of FANTASIA as part of the Staufen Music Week with Sibylle Gädeke. They create playable figures from everyday objects (“Objets Trouvés”). Inspired by object art and puppet theater, found objects are combined in new ways — such as Yves Tanguy’s tin figures in the Basel theater fountain. The course expands on this theme and another creative process: here, sonorous figures are created that can be played with acousti­cally. The objects lose their original meaning and take on a new, idio­syn­cratic form. They shape space and sound in an unusual way. In keeping with the Staufen Music Week theme of FANTASIA, you will spend three days devel­oping sounding figures from unused objects that are waiting to be creatively redis­cov­ered.
